2K SPORTS : The Bigs

IGN reports:

Today, 2K Sports announced it is expanding its take on America’s (second) favorite pastime with a new over-the-top baseball title. The Bigs, developed by Blue Castle Games, races across the base paths on Xbox 360, PS2, PS3, PSP and Wii next summer.

Why is this important? 2K Sports had initially shunned the Wii after poor sales of their games on the Gamecube. [GC is conspicously absent from the list of platforms] So this announcement, the first Wii game from a power-house publisher, is a milestone. Next stop NBA 2K8..

Wii don’t need no stinking Revolution

Aussie-Nintendo is reporting that David Cole, President of overseas games industry research firm DFC Intelligence, has doubts about Nintendo’s revolutionary approach to the market. A guy named “brentonio” disagrees in the comments section:

I also disagree with his notion that all we need is an evolution and not a revolution. We bloody well do need a revolution, because the way it is going is that games are getting harder not only to play, but to produce, they are getting more expensive, consoles are increasing in price, and graphics and ‘ non-gaming’ features are taking priority over good old fashioned fun. Wii is a revolution simply because it goes against everything we have been brainwashed to believe a video game console should be.

Who will be right? I dunno but my money’s on the aussie-fanboy.
